A Great Scholar and Saint- Maskeenji

Gaini Sant Singh Maskeen Ji is one greatest scholars of his time. He had not done any masters or higher studies, still his wisdom was much more than billions of people around. He was a great scholar of Sri Guru Granth Sahib. Due to partition in 1947, he had to leave his studies. In 1952 when his father died he lost his faith in this world and left his home for the search of truth. He learned wisdom of Guru Granth Sahib and other sacred book from various places and scholars. He led a simple life.

However his knowledge made him separate from the whole world. He became a medium in understanding the secrets of Guru Granth Sahib. His words are so simple and are full of examples that an ordinary man can understand them. He became a person who transformed the life of many people. Although he was a Sikh, however his knowledge was not restricted to Sikhism. He was a man of true religion, who has learned the religion, performed it and also spread it for the help of others. Most of the religious people who preach today only glorify their religion and are orthodox in nature.

However Maskeenji was the greatest scholars of time who has truly come above all this. Those people who have got chance to listen him know the power of his wisdom. He was a true Guru Sikh, who knows why he has come to this world. He led his whole life for uplifting others. His words have power to transform people. The work done by him will always remain a big achievement for India in spiritual growth. It was a day of grief for India when Maskeenji died on 18 Feb last year, however he will always remain alive in our hearts.

  1. Thanks for a post! He sure was a great Gursikh (Sikh of the Guru)and a Panth Ratan! Please do not call him "guru" since Sikhs only follow 10 human Gurus and Guru Granth Sahib as their current living Shabad Guru and no other human Gurus or other prophets or saints. Some people think he was called a "Sant" but in actuality his name was "Sant Singh". He was actually against various sants and babas labels that people give various people and I would think would be a great disrespect to a man. I hope I have not offended you in any way!
