Movie review Delhi 6

Indian film audience which believe in the power of Indian cinema will definitely like this film. Overall, Delhi 6 is a nice movie, however, it have been much better if climax was slightly different, slow and convincing. Most of film Delhi 6 work very well and tells number of stories silently and narrate story of millions of middle class people in Delhi.

This film is directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, who has spent his childhood in chandi chowk area of Delhi where story of Delhi 6 revolves. Many people expected that Delhi 6 will compete with Rang De Basanti and can be even better than Rang de Basanti. However, despite a good start and convincing storyline of monkey threat this film derails near the end.

Both Abhishek Bachan and Soman Kapoor have done excellent roles in this film. This film highlights many silent stories inside it like dilemma faced by a young person born and bought up in USA about his country, dreams of a middle class girl, tension between different religious communities.

This film can be watched for the spirit of Delhi which is running it successfully from many centuries. Music of film is excellent like earlier music of A R Rahman. It will have been much better if film has an equally convincing end and not an end which is thrown on us. Still, Delhi 6 is a bold attempt in Indian film industry and we can expect many such films in future.
