Who will win Chhattisgarh Assembly Election 2008? (Opinion Poll)

People of Chhattisgarh will vote in two phases on 14th Nov and 20th Nov for electing new state government. Chhattisgarh is a new state as compared to other states in India. These are second assembly elections in Chhattisgarh. There are total 90 assembly seats in Chhattisgarh and for making government in state any party is required to win 46 seats. Last assembly elections in 2003 were won by BJP by winning 50 assembly seats whereas congress won 37 seats and 3 seats won by others.

This time also main fight is between BJP and Congress. BJP’s present Chief Minister in state is Dr. Raman Singh while Congress has projected Ajit Jogi against him. Both BJP and Congress are confident about their win in assembly election, though only one of them will win. Some opinion polls conducted by various news agencies are also available in front of us which are indicated comfortable win for BJP in state again. According to reports, BJP is likely to increase her seats by winning 52-57 seats while Congress is likely to win between 30-34 seats and while 2-4 seats can go to others.

Vote share is expected to be 36.5% for congress and 39.5% for BJP. This is good news for BJP that they are going to retain Chhattisgarh state again. If BJP wins in Chhattisgarh then main credit will be popular CM image of Dr Raman Singh and people oriented schemes like 3 rupees KG rice to poor people. Final results will be declared on 8th Dec will other state assembly results.
