Does there is any fight in the Rashtrapati (President) Election 2017?

In a few days, elections will be held for new President of India and with this tenure of present President Pranab Mukherjee will come to an end. Though, Indian President tenure can go up to ten years if present President is reelected; however, no political alliance showed interest in giving an extension to Pranab Mukherjee. BJP lead NDA announced the name of Bihar CM Ram Nath Kovind as their candidate for president. BJP wanted to have consensus on his name; however, Congress lead opposition parties announced the name of former Loksabha Speaker Meira Kumar as their candidate.

However, here everyone knows that majority of votes are with Ram Nath Kovind and even JD(U) is going to support him. Therefore, we don't see any fight. Now only a miracle can tilt the actual results. It would have been much better if all political parties decided the president candidate unanimously which would have saved the unnecessary tussle between the political parties. BJP is looking president elections as an opportunity to raise its candidate to the highest position and also score with Schedule caste voters for making first President from the category.

At present both the candidates are busy with their political campaigns and they traveling to different states to meet MPs and MLAs. These elections will 17th July and counting will be done on 20th July. Therefore, we need to wait for some time to see who will finally succeed in these elections. Will it be BJPs victory as predicted or Opposition candidate may surprise us?
