For every person who wants to remain healthy, it is very important for him to eat nutritious food because proper nutrition level in food helps our body to absorb all essential vitamins, carbohydrates, proteins and minerals. After absorbing all these essential nutrients, our body become stronger and healthy to fight against various diseases and infections. To learn about healthy food, people are required to understand “Health Food Pyramid” well which guides people about eating a good and healthy food. This pyramid tells us that what should be importance of particular kind of eatable items in our food.
This chart becomes small as it goes up so it tells us exactly what kind of food should be present at bottom of pyramid and what kind of food at top of pyramid. Food items present at the bottom of pyramid are basically food items which we are required to eat in large quantity; therefore, any ideal food constitutes of these items in large quality as compared to other items. Food items present at the top of pyramid are food items which we are required to eat in less quantity. Thus with the help of this Health Food Pyramid, we can understand that what should be ideal quantity of each type of food items in our food.
In food pyramid first comes Grains group starting from bottom then followed by Fruits and Vegetable group, Milk Group, Protein (Meat/pulses) group and last and at top of pyramid is Fats group. We are required to eat 6-7 servings of Grains group daily, 3-4 servings of Fruits and Vegetables, 3 serving of milk group, 2 servings of Protein group and very small quantity of fats. Also people should drink 7-8 servings of water daily. By adding these food items as per this Pyramid in our food, we can make our food ideal and healthy food.
