Super Blue Blood Moon

On this 31st January 2018, you get a chance to witness one of the rarest phenomena on the earth. You will see the supermoon, blue moon, total lunar eclipse and blood moon all on 31st night. Therefore, some refer to it as Super Blue Blood Moon and this event will take place for the first after 152 years, thus makes it once in a lifetime opportunity. On this day, the moon will look much bigger and brighter than its usual size (appx. 14% bigger and 30% brighter).

All Supermoon, Blue Moon, Lunar Eclipse are a different phenomenon. A supermoon occurs when a moon is at a closed approach to the earth in a single orbit. A Blue Moon occurs when two full moons happen to be in the same month and lunar eclipse happens when the moon passes through the earth shadow. This event will last for one hour and 16 minutes. In India, one can see it in the evening when Moon rises.

The good thing about this event is that one can watch it with naked eyes without protective eyewear. There are many superstitions also attached to such events and many people still believe that such events bring with them lots of troubles. Though, scientists believe that these events are a simple natural phenomenon and no one should fear from them.
