Fight between the people of different states is not a new thing in India and there are large numbers of people in different states which do not like the people of other states. Recently, India saw fresh violence due to this problem when one political party in Maharashtra which presents itself as guardian of people of Maharashtrian origin attacked the people of north Indian origin. In last four days, numbers of poor north Indian people like Taxi drivers, small tea stall owners, daily workers etc are attacked by these so called guardians of Maharashtrian people.
Most of people who have become the victim of this violence are daily earners and they were hardly posing any threat to any native person. Today, we people are slowly becoming a single nation after 60 years of independence because now, large numbers of people consider themselves first Indians then belonging to a particular state. However, many fundamentalist forces for their own gain do not want to allow all this to happen. Raj Thakara is also using the same sentimental card for increasing foot hold of his party in Maharashtra which is already ailing and not finding any takers.
However, these so called leaders never realise that how they are negatively affecting the cause of single and united India. In progressing India, it is very difficult to stop the migration of ordinary people of one state to the other states. Mumbai is a big city of India and therefore, many poor people from other states got attracted toward it for earning their livelihood. Though, sometime population of these people become significant as compared to native people but this does not mean that we start attacking or killing them. This violence will hardly provide any solution and this problem will remain as it is in front of us.
Raj Thakare and his party also required to think that these labourers have played significant role in the construction and smooth running of Mumbai and in future also, Mumbai will require the help of these people. For solving this problem, we people and political parties are required to make a new India where poor people can easily find good opportunities in their own states and towns, so that we can stop migration of people from state to other.
Our great leaders have given their lives for making one united India and therefore, we cannot allow someone to again divide India. If, Raj Thakare really want to help the people of Maharashtra then he can fight for the farmers of Maharashtra, who have no option left with them to commit suicide. Today, politician in India come under the category of most corrupt people who can go up to any extent for winning elections. At the end, it depends upon the people that how they treat these leaders.
