Implications of BSP win in Future

Mayawati lead BSP has this time showed great performance in the UP (Utter Pradesh) election and emerged as a great force which now controls biggest state of India. UP has great influence on the Indian politics because of highest number of MPs it send to parliament and most of the parties which are strong in UP have controlled or played major role in centre politics. By realizing this truth Mayawati has already told that center is not far away for her party.

This statement clearly shows the ambitions and possibilities which BSP is thinking about. With this complete majority in the UP election, BSP has really emerged as a big force which is very difficult to side lined. Few years back most of the experts and people believed that BSP has attained his maximum potential and it is not possible for BSP to get further success. However the social engineering skills and acumen of Mayawati make it is possible for BSP to get the votes from once it big rival Brahmins.

BSP already has base in many other parts of India and now party will try to implement this strategy to other parts as well. This strategy has the potential of providing good support for the BSP in other states too and then helping BSP in emerging as a big national party. Further in the time of collation politics who knows that Mayawati may find a chance to become Prime minister of India. However all these dreams of Mayawati and BSP will depend upon their ruling behavior in UP and how they are able to take Brahmins and other non dalits with them.

At present with power in UP and having more than 200 MLAs in UP assembly, she has already become a key role player in President Election with various parties trying to get her support for their Presidential candidates. Further for next five years, BSP has confirmed a solid place for themselves in the Indian politics and this place could become stronger with increase in number of their MPs in the next Parliament elections. For time being, BSP has clearly got a bright place of itself in the Indian politics and their downfall or rise from here depends on polices, strategies and acumen they apply in future.

Most probably these elections will take place in April/May 2009. After these elections new government will take control of India. Presently, there are three main contenders for this position UPA (present government include parties like Congress, RJD, DMK etc), NDA (main opposition party include BJP, JD(U), BJD, Shiv Sena etc) and third front (which include parties like Communist parties, TDP etc). However, we can expect main fight between UPA and NDA. Kerala is one of the most educated states of India; therefore, we can hope that People of Kerala will wisely choose their new chief minister. Presently, Kerala is ruled by Left Democratic Front (LDF) which is group of left parties and some Kerala regional parties. The opposition alliance is United Democratic Front (UDF) which is group of Congress and some Kerala regional parties. Generally, Kerala is ruled by either LDF or UDF and there is no third alternative present in Kearla. National parties like BJP, BSP have some presence in Kerala; however, so far they have failed to show any progress on ground. Kerala is also one state of India where a single leader can start his own political party; therefore, we see presence of man
