Failed on slow pitch what they will do on fast pitches?

Today, Indian team terribly lost to Australia in another test match and helped Australia in further strengthening their home test match records. In the first test match at Melbourne, Indian team even failed in crossing 200 run marks in both the innings and lost this match by 337 runs. Back home large numbers of Indian fans have lot of expectations from Indian team that they will win this test series. Melbourne was the only slow pitch in Australia out of the four pitches where India and Australia will play or have played test matches with each others.

Therefore, there were lot of expectations from Indian team that they win this win this test or at least give a good fight. Indian cricket team always find a difficulty in playing on the fast pitches and facing bowlers who bowl above 150 Km/h speed. Now all the remaining test matches will be played on the fast pitches and therefore, chances look very dark for the Indian team. Even before the start of this test series, some Australian experts have given their verdict that it will be amazing that if Indian team even wins a single test match.

Earlier, I rejected this verdict as pressure technique by Australian media but after this lacklustre performance, this verdict looks becoming true in future. Australia already holds a great success rate in tests against India in Australia because year after year, most of the Indian teams have found them in defensive side against Australia. Some hope for India is available in the form of Varinder Sehwag, who was rested in first test. Sehwag holds a good test record in Australia and therefore, he can help India in changing situation in Australia.

Movie review- Welcome (It is a time pass)

This year has already passed very well for the Akshay Kumar and he has almost succeeded in solidifying his position as comedy king of Indian cinema. This film also helps him in proving his comedy skills. Story of film revolves around the three gangster brothers, who are searching a good and honest groom for their sister. Katrina Kaif is playing the role of sister of these gangsters and Askhay is playing the role of a smart and honest boy. Overall, this is a complete masala movie with hardly any reasonably explainable storyline and events.

Still, laughter moments goes on striking the people after few intervals and therefore, it become easy and to some extent enjoyable to watch this movie. This movie is not an exceptional kind of movie from Akshay and may be weakest of his three big hits of this year (Namastey London, Bhool Bhulaiya and Hey Baby). Despite, some weak points, Welcome is all set to become another hit from the Akshay Kumar.

Both Nana Patekar and Anil Kapoor are also fine in their comic roles of dons and provide number of chances in movie to laugh at them. Feroz Khan, third don in this film is average in acting and has nothing new to offer to the audience. Malika Sherawat is also present in the second half of film and she is also fine. At the end, I can only see that Welcome offers a good time pass but it is not a kind of movie which leaves some kind of impression behind.

Now, it has almost become clear that BJP is all set for come back in power in Himachal with a landslide victory. Presents election results trends are showing a comfortable majority for BJP in Himachal assembly. If the present trend continue and convert into results than BJP can easily think about getting more than 40 seats in Himachal election, which will be a huge majority for BJP and a reverse of 2003 election results. Today will be registered as a black day in the history of Pakistan forever because two militants shot dead Former Pakistani Benazir Bhutto. Benazir Bhutto was only 54 years old and considered as a popular leader in Pakistan. Benazir Bhutto was shot five bullets by two motorcycle riders during a political relay in Rawalpindi and out of five bullet one bullet penetrated the neck of Benazir. She was brought to hospital in the injured state but she succumbed to injuries. Earlier, Militants also tried to kill her unsuccessfully by blowing her political relay by suicide bombing, in which 30 people were killed. This news has come as a great shock for people around the world and all the world leaders are condemning this incidence. Recently, Bhutto emerged as a hope of democracy in Pakistan and there were many chances that she may have won the forth coming elections in Pakistan. Her death can also be associated with her increasing popularity and her open attack on the fundamental forces in recent past. After the death of Benazir Bhutto, there are many chances that Pakistan can again go in the state of political vacuum. Former Prime Minister Nawas Sharif, other opposition leader of Pakistan has blamed General Musharraf for this attack and even shown apprehensions about his life. Militants also attacked the relay of Nawas Sharif in Rawalpindi in which 5 people were killed. Some experts are even blaming Taliban Backed forces behind it.

Her actual name before marriage was Hira-kunwari and after marriage she was known as Mariam-uz-Zamani).

Large numbers of people have heard about the famous story of Saleem and Anarkali and numbers of films are also made on this topic but so far nobody touched this topic and therefore, we can hope for a new love story being revealed in front of us in the form of Jodhaa Akbar. With this film, we can also hope to know more about Mughal Empire and Akbar. Trailers of Jodhaa Akbar are also released and they are pointing towards a big entertainment. It is always a difficult thing to make films on the sensitive and not much known issues, therefore, we are required to wait till 25th January for knowing the actual film.

Year 2007 has reached its end and within few days, we are going to enter into a new year 2008. Year 2007 has left number of good and bad memories behind and today, I am going to share with you my choice of top five films of 2007. Some of these films were unexpected success of 2007 and they provided good entertainment to the people.

My list of top five films of 2007

1) My choice for first position is “Jab we meet”. This is one of the most unexpected success stories of this year. This film is also biggest commercial success of this years and it is still showing in number of cinema halls across India where other films released after its release are getting no takers. This film was a total surprise package for me and I have not even slightest hope about the success of this movie because I am not a big fan of Karina Kapoor and Shahid Kapoor. I also watched this movie after one month of its release. After watching this movie, I totally regretted my decision of not watching this movie on the first day. After many years, I saw a totally innocent and entertaining love story with good performance from the Karina and shahid. This film has already become very popular among the youth and large numbers of college going students have watched it several times, though I watched it only for one time. “Jab we meet” is my pick for the first position and people have also given their verdict in the favour of this film. 2) My choice for the second position is “Chak de India”. I really want to salute this film and I want to request our film industry for making more such films. This film is a great boost for ailing sports system of India and specially women sports. Major attraction of film is natural and rock solid acting from chak de girls. Shahrukh Khan is also solid in this film. This film is full of number of good messages for society and sports. This film is a must watch for every Indian because it beautifully tells number of unique features of India. This film is only successful film of Yash Raj banner this year. 3) My third choice is “Namastey London”. This Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif starrer film is a good entertainer coupled with number of beautiful messages. This film represents the story of number of Indian youth living in foreign countries and their struggle for their identity. 4) My choice for fourth film is “Bhool Bhulaiya”. I went to the theartre in the hope that Bhool Bhulaiya will be next comedy hit from Askhay Kumar but this film totally surprised me with its horror mix. This psycho thriller was full of number of good suspense scenes and provides a good entertainment till the end. 5) My fifth and last choice is “Taare Zameen Par”. This is a wonderful film from Amir Khan with superb performance from main child actor Darsheel Safary. Like chak de India, this film represents a new starting point in Indian cinema and provides a good watch. Oriented on child problems, this film beautiful tells how every child is special. 1) For this position, I want to pick animation film “Ratatouille”. This is one of greatest animation film, I have watched ever. This film is already a big success and numbers of people around the world have become fan of this small rat. This is one animation film which is full of emotions and great animation. 2) My second pick among the Hollywood movies is “300”. This is a film made around an epic story which tells how 300 shoulders fought bravely with army of lakhs. BJP workers around India are seems to be in celebration mood after it becomes clear that BJP is again going for come back in Gujarat again. After its defeat in the UP election, BJP was really looking for some positive momentum to build for launching a nationwide campaign for midterm poles. This win in Gujarat election will definitely help BJP in again strengthening its hold in national politics. BJP is also expecting similar good news from the Himachal where assembly elections have just ended. Voting for Himachal assembly is scheduled for 28 Dec, if everything remains fine and High Court of Shimla does not stop the vote counting till the March, 2008 (as asked by Congress). Despite all hurdles, BJP also look set to gain power in Himachal. These two wins will definitely help BJP getting some positive edge over its rivals in the next midterm and states election.

Sometimes, it looks very difficult to believe that people of present world can burn someone alive for no fault of his. All this got revealed during the recent testimony of one of the eye witness in 1984 Sikh riots. In his interview, he described the episode of burning of two Sikh personals by the mob during the 1984 riots. Mob put tyres around the body of persons then burned the tyres. This is an ugly truth related to mob violence which makes all of us shame. People can watch the four video series of CNN-IBN for knowing the details of riots and watch the testimony of person. Moreover, now it becomes quite evident that Jagdish Tytler has played crucial role in fuelling these riots and recent clean chit by the CBI to him is just an eye wash to save him. It is a Nice film (Movie Review-“Taare Zameen Par”)

Finally, Director Amir Khan is in front of us and he is really rocking in his new avatar. Taare Zameen Par is not wonderful because Amir Khan has acted in it but his direction speaks in this film. This is his first film as director and this film has impressed so many people that they were not able to stop their tears. In the last half of the movie, which is best part of movie, it is very difficult for anybody to stop himself from emotionally carried away by the film. This film did not get block buster opening like other release Welcome but Taare Zameen Par will definitely steal the show soon.

Story of film revolves around a 3rd class student who finds difficulty in concentrating and remembering things because of disorder dyslexia (a learning disability). However, nobody neither care for the boy (Ishaan) nor understand his problem till situations become more complex and causes a mental trauma to the child. Just before interval, enters a new art teacher Amir Khan who not only understands the problem of Ishaan but also help him in solving his problem and getting his confidence back. This film is a good watch for all of us because this story is related to everyone in some or other way.

In the present world, where getting good marks and remaining on the top has become a constant demand from children by their parents and therefore, large numbers of children suffer due to huge expectation put on their small shoulders. This film is a good try by the Amir Khan and we need more such films in future. However, still certain loopholes are present in film like film become very slow or boring at certain points especially in first half. Film look slightly stretched in first half for showing the life and traumas associated with Ishaan, which can be easily done in half of time because number of one and half hour Hollywood movies are present on similar topics which are able to convey more deep meaning than Taare Zameen Par in just half time like “Bee Season”.

Still, despite all the errors and shortcoming, this is the best Bollywood version of children oriented films in which we are very-2 behind from rest of world. Child actor Darsheel Safary who played the role of Ishaan Awasthi has played an excellent role and I will not shy to say that this film totally depends on his shoulders. It is his realistic acting which makes Taare Zameen Par alive from start to end and he has even out performed Amir Khan. Rest of the actors and supporting actors are fine and provided a good and natural look to the film. The main victory of this Taare Zameen Par is that many people are able to relate with this film and it will not be surprising if some people say that this is their story. This film is promoted like a children film but this film holds a good watch for all of us. At the end, I only want to say that Amir Khan is a fine director and we can expect more wonderful film from him in Future.

Recently, I was watching a show about women condition in India and I completely shocked to learn this fact that there is a 21% difference in men and women literacy rate. This fact really tells the actual story of women education in India. All this only indicates that there is still lot of work required to be done for women education. Mostly, women find difficulty in getting education because of the non availability of schools nearby and mostly parents do not allow their girls to go far away from home for education. Moreover, women not only suffer at the primary education level but many times, they also remain deprived of higher education. Finally, “Taare Zameen Par” first film of Amir Khan of this year is ready to hit the theatres on 21 Dec. This film is not special because of the presence of Amir Khan in it but with this film we will also be able to watch direction of Amir Khan. According to Amir Khan, he always wanted to direct films, however he wanted to do this after finishing his acting career. Then why Amir accepted “Taare Zameen Par” as actor and director then the answer is that script of film impressed him very much and also he wanted to make a similar film for the children.

“Taare Zameen Par” is basically a story of small kid who remains happy in his own life filled with animals, colours and kits etc and he finds difficulty in concerting in studies, doing homework, reaming in discipline and getting good marks. To get rid of this problem, parents send him to a boarding school so that he can become a more disciplined and career oriented child. Situations become even worse until one day a new teacher join his school and help this small kid “Ishaan” coming out of his problems and finding his real self.

Role of kid Ishaan in this movie is played by a child artist Darsheel Safary and Amir himself is doing the role of school teacher. Amir Khan has tried his best to promote this film with his full energy and for this purpose he visited number of schools and orphan homes. Numbers of contests related to film are also launched to get the attention of people and children. Amir Khan even tried to create controversy around this movie when he criticised film “Black” starring Amitab Bachan for showing wrongful treatment of children in this movie. Final verdict of people about film will be available in front of us only after the release of this film and till then we can hope for another hit film from the Amir Khan.

Who will win in Himachal Election? (Exit poll result)

Today, second phase of voting in Himachal also came to end and with this people’s decisions got stored in the Electronic voting machines and we will be able to know final decision on 28 Dec. However, exit poll results are available in front of us and which are giving good news for the BJP. As per the exit poll results, It is certain that BJP is now coming back to government in Himachal.

As per the exit poll prediction, BJP will get between 38-42 seats from total 68 seats which is an enough majority for making government in Himachal. On the other hand congress is supposed to get 17-21 seats. Other parties and independent can also get seats between 5-13 seats in these elections. This situation look totally reverses of the 2003 election results when congress received 43 seats and BJP 16 seats. This is second good news for BJP after the predictions of win in Gujarat election.

Also it looks that Himachal has again voted as per the same pattern which is prevalent from the time of its birth. Himachal results will not have much effect on the national politics but it is difficult to predict the combined effect of Himachal and Gujarat results on the centre politics. One implication of BJP win in both Himachal and Gujarat could be delay in the midterm poll plans of Congress and now Congress will like to wait for more time before going for elections in centre.

Today, voting for the second phase of election took place in Gujarat and with this verdict of Gujarat people got sealed in the EVMs. People will be only able to see these results on 23 Dec when counting for the votes will start. With the end of second phase of elections, final exit poll results for the Gujarat election are also out and all the exit poll nearly show a same picture in front of us. All the exit polls have pointed towards a victory for BJP in this election but number of seats can drastically decrease compared to the 2002 results.

Now as per the latest estimate by different exit polls by different news and media channels, BJP can get between, 93-105 seats which will be a just majority position for BJP. On the other hand seats of congress will remain between 75-85 seats. Vote share of BJP is expected to remain between 46-47% and congress’s vote share can remain between 42-43%, which shows a 3% decrease in the vote share of BJP and 3% increase in the vote share of Congress as compared to previous elections. Therefore, we can say as per the exit polls BJP will form government in Gujarat again but it may not get the same huge majority as got in 2002 election.

Therefore, it looks that Modi factor has worked again in Gujarat and Congress needs to wait for next five years for making a government in Gujarat. However, Congress is definitely going to improve its strength in Gujarat which could be a worrying sign for the BJP and Narendra Modi.
