Viswanathan Anand is both world number one and world champion

This is really a great achievement by any Indian chess player and showed the world that Indians are number one in brilliance. Only few months back Viswanathan Anand rose to the top position in world ranking of chess and now, he is also a world chess champion for the second time. Viswanathan Anand won world chess championship held in Mexico last month. Viswanathan Anand is one of the few players India has, who have created their supremacy in the game. However, the problem is that despite consistent regular performance, Viswanathan Anand is not given the required attention by our people and media. Still there will be large number of people in India who might not be aware about this great performance of this chess champion. Though, Tamilnadu government announced prize of Indian rupees 25 lakh to him but a real sense of celebration is missing over this great win. In cricket crazy nation India, other games are still struggling to get the attention of people despite their good performance. There are number of good opportunities which exist for Indian younger generation in these kinds of the games and it is possible for us to give good hockey, chess, long tennis, football and other sports players to world. However for all this to happen, we people need to look beyond the game of cricket and allowing other games to also have their share.
