Beggary and some solutions

Beggary is a major problem which is today affecting large population of India. First people are those who are involved in various beggary related jobs and second ones are the rest population of India which is exploited by these beggars. Most of the time, we all people have view that these beggars are innocents and are sufferers of societies inequalities. To some extent we all people are right, there are large number of beggars in India who are forced in to doing begging because our societies fails in providing any good alternative to them. The other issue is slightly more serious where large numbers of beggars are in begging for earning easy money or certain mafias are making money on their names. The major issues with this beggary problem are non awareness about this whole business, society’s failure, no humanitarian solutions and failure of government in stopping beggary.

It is not hard to find beggars in India who are earning Rs 1000 or above per day from begging still we feel that by giving one and two rupees what will happen to these beggars. In bigger cities, this collective money is very large and therefore large numbers of mafias are also involved in this begging business, which kidnap innocent children and make people artificially handicapped for using them in beggary. Even large numbers of leading doctors and police officers are also helping them in all this. Today beggary has become a serious business in our society which has lot of ugly realities but strangely we people are not ready to recognise them. One big option for stopping this menace of beggary could be increasing awareness among the people about this increasing problem, starting humanitarian programs for beggars and discouraging giving money to the beggars.

  1. apart from the above reasons of beggary u mentioned in ur blog, one very important cause is that they don't have dignity... if we develop a sense of dignity in them and then take the steps to rehabilitate them, i'm sure half of the beggary problem will be solved... plus we need to have a proper govt machinery to prevent them... though we have beggars' homes, they put women at diff place, children somewhere else, adolescent beggar somewhere else and grown up men somewhere else due to which most beggars do not prefer to go as they'll have to be away from the family...!!! anyway good you have atleast given a thot to this problem, we need more such people to do that so as to eradicate beggary.... but for a start we must decide not to give a penny to the beggars, not atleast to the healthy ones... we should make the work a bit like clean our vehicle or some work at home or something and then give money or else buy a bit of food to that person.... thanks!!

  2. In addition to all your points, I can see still 50% is do this out of choice as they are the laziest person , many times I have offered work specially to women they are reluctant even to talk after that. It hurts when working class earns money by putting in so much hard work and give money to this people out of emotion. In a way we are also getting exploited by them

Multiple Cloud bursts in Himachal Pradesh and other hilly areas what suggest

In recent, the news of cloud bursts in hilly areas has become very common. Yesterday, the popular tourist destination of Himachal Daramshala say another cloud burst this year and now, cloud bursts have become very common in many parts of Himachal. The recent landslides, floods and cloud bursts caused losses to property worth millions of rupees. This is a worrying sign because the number of such incidences is on rising every year and it has become common to see cars and two-wheelers floating in the flood waters. Ten days back, I wrote on the topic that how floods and landslides are creating major havoc in Himachal Pradesh. The story is not different for other hilly states of India too.  The problem is with human greed and due to it, people are making construction in those places which are very sensitive in nature.
