A dull film (Movie Review-Beowulf)

Presently, a new trend has started in Hollywood of making films on the famous epic stories. Earlier this year, we saw much debated and liked movie “300” which displayed the courage of 300 soldiers. Now another movie Beowulf is available in front of us. This film is also based on the oldest surviving English epic of world “Beowulf”. This 3183 lines epic is believed to written between the 8th and 10th century. The main hero of the film is Beowulf, a hero of Geats, who known for defeating number of monsters and demons.

Beowulf helps the Danish people by killing a monster Grendel attacking them. However, he fails in killing the monster’s mother a demon (performed by Angelina Jolie) and surrenders himself to her for the greed of money and kingdom. Beowulf story takes a new turn when a new monster, son of the Beowulf, returns and again start attacking the people. Beowulf takes this challenge and heroically kills his monster son. In this battle, he also got killed and become an epic.

This is really a great epic story full of heroism and emotional dilemmas; however, this film fails in perfectly portraying these emotions and situations. This film is made with “Performance capture” technique in which live actions are recorded for making high tech animations. Despite all the good work and good storyline, Beowulf is a below average film. This film really miss the punch of “300” and soft emotions of “Ratatouille”. This movie can be a good watch for the children but for the adults this is a movie full of number of boring parts.

It is best romantic film of year (Movie Review-“Jab we meet”)

“Jab we meet” is one of the best romantic movies of the year which is full of good storyline, good songs, good acting, good climax and many more. So, we can say that there is lot of good-good in this movie. This is one movie which has picked in latter months which shows the increasing popularity of this movie among people. This movie has got lot of acceptance from young generation and with the help of this movie youngster has got an option of fantasising their love emotions.

The major attraction of movie is good and simple storyline which hold people with the movie till the end. Both Shahid kapoor and Karina Kapoor has given their best performances with this film. They really look like a real romantic couple and their love chemistry is perfect in this movie (may be effect for their true life love). If we compare “Jab We Meet” with the other big hits released with it or after it then “Jab we meet” really has an edge over the others. The story of film is simply about discovering and rediscovering love.

Moreover, for people who missed the famous Shahid and Karina kiss MMS then a good kiss scene between Shahid and Karina wait people in this movie. This is one of the most of unexpected good movie which very less people have expected earlier from Shahid and Karina. Music is also another strong point of this movie which is already a big hit among the youth. Overall this is a good entertaining and romantic movie. From many side, this movie deserves to be watched on the big screen and hope you will too appreciate it.

Pervez Musharraf is now a civilian President

Finally, Pervez Musharraf completed his much awaited dream of becoming President of Pakistan without the army uniform. Yesterday, General Musharraf handed over his army chief position in Pakistan army to Gen. Ashfaq Kayani. Gen. Kayani has always remained very close associate of Gen. Musharraf during his nine year tenure and he is believed to be very near to the Musharraf. Gen. Kayani has saved the life of Gen. Musharaf in two unsuccessful cope attempts. Gen. Kayani is also believed to be very near to America and Benazir Bhutto.

These developments are much anticipated after the increasing pressure on the General Musharraf to shed his Army uniform from US and other international powers. Prevaz Musharraf has almost cleared his way for becoming the new president of Pakistan by appointing new chief justice Abdhul hammed Dogar. By appointing a new chief justice in the backdrop of emergency, Musharraf easily got away from the cases running against him in the Supreme Court of Pakistan. After all these development, act of emergency only looks like a method used by Musharraf to save his skin.

Now Musharraf is first Army chief in the history of Pakistan to become President of Pakistan and future will tell how he will run Pakistan without the top position of army. At present army is the most powerful institution in Pakistan and therefore support of army play a crucial role in the success or failure of any political or other important move. Moreover, time will tell that Gen. Kayani will remain obedient to Musharraf in future or not and does Pakistan is heading towards true democracy?

Example of Extreme brutality against women (Watch)

Today, most of the nation shocked to see the misbehaviour with women in Assam. Most of the pictures which were shown on the television today have a very ugly story of human brutality to tell. Yesterday, few hundred tribal people living in Assam started their agitation for reservation in government jobs which is not available for these migrated tribal people which were basically brought here by the British for working in tea plantation. This whole agitation become violent and brutal when number of local residents and businessmen attacked on these tribal men and women with big rods and sticks.

Most of these agitating tribal people got injured in this whole incidence and one person died. However, major brutality of this complete violence came in front of people when people saw pictures of naked women running here and there for their safety. Not only the cloths of these women were torn by the mob but some even brutality kicked these naked women on their private parts. Some of these women were even reported being raped by mob. This issue has again brought in lime light the ugly face of men against the women. Most of these educated people crossed all the limits of insanity by doing this crime.

Really, these few people have put all of us in this shameful state. It is very hard to imagine that this kind of mentality is still prevalent among so called educated Indians. Moreover, the other amazing fact is that nobody came forward for the help of these tribal women among the thousands of spectators and number of police men. After the media and women rights intervention, three people involved in this incidence are arrested by the police. However, it will take many years to forget this brutality against women.

Today, Indian batsmen were required to score only 32 runs for the win with seven wickets in hands. Saurav Ganguly was the only wicket to fall today and he scored 48 runs. Shoaib Akhtar was only successful bowler for Pakistan and he took all the four wickets.

Earlier, Pakistan won the toss and elected to bat first. In the first inning Paksitan scored 231 runs with the major support from Misbah-ul-Haq of 84 runs. In bowling again major star for India remain captain Anil Kumble, who took crucial 3 wickets. Saurav Ganguly and Harbhajan Singh took also two-2 wickets each. Overall, this was a very interesting match and mostly dominated by the bowlers. This cricket ground has always remained lucky for the Anil Kumble and this time also luck has favoured him. Anil Kumble is given man of match for his great bowling performance. Other attraction of the match remain Sachin Tendulkar, who crossed 11,174 runs tally of Allan Border to become the second highest run scoring batsman in test cricket.

A Goal missed (Movie review- Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal)

After the failure of his film “No Smoking” at the box office, John Abraham has lot of hopes from his next film “Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal”. Yes, this film is definitely better than “No Smoking” and has some hope for John Abraham. Though, this film may not be a big success for John Abraham but can certainly provide some relief for him. This film is a mixture of interesting and boring scenes. The major worry is that even love angle of John and Bipasha Basu fails in providing any relief to the audience.

From the name of movie, it looks that this movie is about football game, and it is about football to some extent but number of other things are over mixed in this simple game oriented film like racism. Director of film has tried his best to portray racism as big issue faced by Indian people living in Britain. In the present world when Shilpa Shetty is winning top celebrity show in England and on the other hand, we are making films about extreme racism in Britain then we are making ourselves fool.

Racism is present in every part of world but still there are large numbers of people who oppose racism and support every person irrespective of his colour, cast or religion. Today’s people really want to watch something different and more interesting than racism which is overdosed in this movie. Other weak point of movie is weak storyline which is easily predictable and offer nothing new to the audience.

This film also looks somewhat inspired from the storyline of “Chak De India”. Acting is also average with most of actors including Arshad Warsi and Boman Irani giving an average performance (may be weak script responsible for it). Overall, this is a average film with some entertainment for its audience. Music is also average which further made Goal a weak film.

score- 2.5/5

Big Setback to BJP in Karnataka

BJP’s hopes of forming a government in Karnataka saw yet another setback when JD(S), coalition partner of BJP in Karnataka, withdrew their support from one week old BJP lead government. With this BJP’s first South Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa has no option left but to give his resignation to governor. Otherwise, Yeddyurappa was required to prove majority in Karnataka assembly tomorrow. However, with the withdrawal of support by the JD(S) fate of BJP lead government was very clear.

Now, Karnataka has again entered in to president rule for the second time in a single month. This BJP-JD(S) fight was continuing from last three month over the power sharing agreement. First JD(S) created problem in the power transfer to BJP two months back which say president rule in state then again after few days back both parties come again to form a BJP lead government. However, today this government again fell over the disagreement on new 12 point agenda of power sharing introduced by JD(S) just before the vote of confidence.

BJP found this agenda non-acceptable and the result of this available in front of us. This whole episode was a big political drama in the history of Indian political and showed to the people that how politician can go to any extent for power. This development is also a big setback for the BJP hopes of forming a government in South states, now BJP is required to wait for few more months or years to complete this dream.

RJD MP Papu Yadav needs a Weight Loss surgery

Today, Supreme Court of India asked AIIMS (All India institute of Medical Sciences) to give report in ten days about the feasibility of weight loss operation of jailed RJD MP Papu Yadav. Papu Yadav has admitted a bail petition in Supreme Court for allowing him to go through weight loss operation because for his better health he needs a weight loss operation immediately. However, Supreme Court of India wants to confirm all the possibility before granting any bail to Papu Yadav because of his criminal track record and earlier bail order violations. In the recent few years, weight loss surgeries have become very popular among the Indians with number of Indians going for weight loss surgeries like Tampa lap band surgery. These kinds of the weight loss surgeries are already very much popular in the western nations. In India, we can easily give one live example available in front of us of Adnan Sami. Famous singer Adnan Sami has significantly reduced his weights by many Kilograms with the help of these weight loss surgeries. Papu Yadav might also have same plans in his mind; however, this whole thing could be an attempt by Papu Yadav to free him from the jail. So far, we all need to wait for about two weeks before getting Court’s decision.

Sad Condition of Indian farmers

Most of the people around the world only know about the rosy picture of India where everything is growing and soon India is going to become a developed nation. However, still there are number of humanitarian issues present in India which need immediate solution. One of such problem is suicide by thousands of poor farmers every year. As per the latest study conducted by a Chennai based institute and leading English daily “The Hindu” which states that about 1.5 lakh farmers across India committed suicide due to agriculture related problems in between years 1997-2005.

Moreover, the study also indicated that this situation can become more problematic in future if no hard measures are being taken by the Indian and state governments, because percentage increase in suicides among farmer is much above the average general suicide rate. Today, India may have achieved leading position in IT or other industries but agriculture is one segment which has helped India when it needed this help most. Even today, large majority of Indian population is engaged in farming, therefore, some immediate steps are required to avert situation from becoming worse.

The major reason behind these suicides by farmers is believed to be crop failure and increasing debts. From last number of continuous years, agriculture segment in India is not able to show any impressive growth and in future also chances of any growth are very less. However, vast farmer pollution of India totally depends on this sector and any negative move in this segment can ruin their all dreams.

For solving this problem, our government needs to provide more financial and modernisation help to the farmers so that they can also again start making profits from their agriculture business. However, on the other hand most of the government look blind on this tragedy and according to them situation is still under control.

Increasing role of computers in our lives

Computers have really revolutionized our whole world, how we live today is very much affected by these super machines. Today, computers are doing number of works for us directly or indirectly and with the passage of time our dependence on them will increase further. Even, computer plays a very important role in daily life and helps us in doing number of things online. Moreover sleek and faster laptop is also attracting more and more people towards it. With the advent of the laptops, computer shapes are bound to become sleeker and handy, thus completely changing the way we use computers.

Common Indians stand for Justice

Today, we can proudly say about India that we are slowly becoming a more people oriented and open society. I will not say that everything is right in India; however, one thing is clear that common Indian people are more united against any crimes or wrong acts done on any person of India or world. We can give the example of recent happening in Nandigram block in West Bengal state of India. Number of people died, few hundred are still missing and hundreds of women are raped in Nandigram in last eleven months.

Even there are still chances of further attacks on these innocent people of Nandigram. The major worrying sign which emerges out of this whole situation is that State machinery totally failed in providing any support to the people and supported the illegal activities of their own supporters. Despite this ugly truth which is available in front of us, there is some good news for the people of Nandigram that there are millions of common people, intellectuals, media persons and NGOs, which have come forward in the support of people of Nandigram.

Everyone in India is raising a strong voice against the things which have happened in Nandigram and how India’s own citizens are treated so badly inside their own country. Moreover, this incidence has also shown the actual picture of communist parties in front of us who always falsely defend themselves as supporter of common people. Today, time has come when common people of India should take active part in the making of their nation and thus help millions of other exploited common people.

Importance of Bank accounts

Bank accounts have really become an integral part in the life of every person. It is very hard for us to think about managing funds without bank accounts. Bank accounts are mostly of two types checking account and saving accounts. Checking accounts are mostly met for the businessmen class and while, saving accounts are met for the ordinary people. Saving accounts basically used for saving money and bank also provide some interest on these bank accounts. On the other hands, checking accounts are mostly opened to manage the business related funds and there is no or very less interest offered by banks on these accounts. Any person can easily open a bank account with bank by providing the required proofs and documents.

Kabir- A mysterious Poet from India

Today’s generation can feel proud about the great works done by ancient saints which are still very much relevant even in the present world. Kabir is also one such saint who is believed to be born in Varanasi city of India in 1398 (as per the current opinion). He is also believed to be died in 1448 in the same city. Saint Kabir has presented a great wisdom in form of his small poems and verses about world, spirituality, god and happiness in front of us.

The main attraction of the Kabir’s work is that he presented infinite knowledge of the world so wisely in few words which is otherwise very difficult to achieve. All this only suggest towards the great intellectual abilities of Kabir. Kabir is called a mysterious person because there are number of things which are still not known about him. Kabir was a Muslim weaver; however, some stories about him suggest that he was born of a Hindu mother but brought up by Muslim weaver family.

However, there is no confirmation about this fact is available so far. Kabir is also believed to be illiterate and he used to give his discloses orally. Today most of the literature available about Kabir is collected by the follower of Kabir. Kabir and his verses also got place in Sikh religious book Shri Guru Granth Shahib. Kabir has made great influence on the Indian people and culture; and still there are large numbers of people across the world those are getting benefited from his work.

Kabir lived his life very simply and as per his own terms and conditions. He does not like to be followed or treated like a big saint or Guru. His advice to the people is to search god inside and not in the outside world. His complete work is really a great master piece which every person needs to read for at least one time.

More weight age to experience in CAT

In recent few years, CAT exam has emerged as a big ticket for Indian students to get a direct entry in to the corporate world and gain high salaries. Every year around 2 lakhs of students from different parts of India and world sit for this examination. However, only 5000 students (approximately) from these students get a call from the IIMs and less than half of them get a final admission. CAT is also considered one of the toughest exams held in Asia and this year onward, English test will also be introduced to make it further tougher.

This year CAT exam will held on tomorrow 18th November, 2007. With the help of this exam students can easily get admission in to various IIM colleges and other 65 leading mba schools. So far, no accurate information was available with people about the various selection processes adopted for selecting students by IIMs. However, with of help of recent litigation filed under the information act two leading IIM’s of India IIM Bangalore and IIM Ahmadabad have made some of their secrets public.

According to this information, work experience plays a crucial role in the selection of students for both the IIMs, while IIM Bangalore also gives some weightage to the previous academic records. Rest of the IIMs have so far not replied to this litigation, but by seeing majority of work experience holder getting admissions into various IIMs, we can say that work experience really plays a very important role. As per the estimate, there is around 60 to 80% weightage given to the work experience and in comparisons to work experience CAT score has very less value. Therefore, it is advisable to have some work experience if someone wants to crack CAT.

It is best (Movie Review- Ratatouille)

Mostly, we all believe that cartoon films are made for laughter and fantasy; and it is hard to represent emotions well with them. Today, animation industry has reached its maturity state and due to this fact; we are able to watch superbly realistic animation films like Ratatouille. The major attraction of this movie is to watch full display of emotions by the virtual cartoons characters.

Ratatouille is not only a story of the journey of a rat’s life but it is a very deep story which is presented very well in the form of an animation movie for us. Great story, great imagination, great animation, great production and great voice all give this movie a unique and distinctive look. This film start with main character of the film Remy a rat who has some amazing power of sniffing and tasting.

Remy always wanted to use his talent and become a chef like Auguste Gusteau, a famous chef of France. In his journey toward becoming a chef, he passes through number of challenges and finally completes his dream with the help of a young man called Alfredo Linguini. The major attraction of the movie is to watch Remy completing his dreams with dedication for his work. During this journey, Remy also face number of emotional dilemmas like choosing between his friend Linguini or his rat family and clan.

Alfredo Linguini also discovers a new life for himself with the help of Remy. This is a great movie which is first time made on the topic of humans and rats friendship, which is otherwise have very less scope in real world. This movie gives a simple message of believing on one’s talents in all the conditions. This is good movie for every person to watch and not only for children.

Score-5/5 (excellent)

It is a film inside film (Movie Review-Om Shanti Om)

Om Shanti Om is all set to become the biggest hit of 2007 and it has already broken number of records on box office within few days of its release. This film is also one of the most talked and awaited film of 2007 with millions of people across the world wanting to know about this movie. I also watched this movie with the same hope and expectation and to some extent, this movie also meet my hopes and expectations well. Shahrukh khan starter, this movie reminds people about the actual things happening behind the screen.

First, I will discuss the strong point of this movie for which people should go and watch this movie. The best part of the movie is its first half which reminds us of the 70’s style of film production. Farah Khan has really made alive 70’s cinema for us and “Om Shanti Om” almost looks like a real 1970’s film. The other thing which provides a lot of help to this movie is it’s excellent and well presented songs. Laughter scenes also make people to laugh after regular intervals and last but not least the twists and turns in this movie.

Now about the weak points of this movie; this movie also has some weak points which stop this movie from becoming a best movie package. First and biggest weak point is easily predictable story line of the movie and there are very less surprises stored in this movie for the audience. Acting is also average in second half of the movie which also creates some boring moments during the film. Overall, we can say that this is a good and lighter movie for one time watch.

This movie presents in front of the people a movie drama inside a movie. However, if we compare “Om Shanti Om” with the hype created around this movie, then “Om Shanti Om” looks losing its ground slightly. This film is destined to be a biggest commercial hit, thanks to the big promotion and Shahrukh Khan's attraction factor, however, we need more good and value oriented films from biggest star of Indian cinema.

Score-2.5/5

Indian Stock market saw highest gain in Single day

Today, Indian stock market rose by around 893 points, which is the highest jump by the stock market in a single day. Stock market finally closed at 19,987 with 4.69% gain. NSE also saw push of 242 points during the day and closed at 5937 points. Therefore tomorrow, we can expect BSE and NSE crossing 20000 and 6000 marks respectively. There are number of experts who believe that BSE will cross 21000 within few days and NSE will stabilise around 6500 points.

However, one of the big thing which emerge out of these ups and downs of the stock market is that it is very difficult to find the next moves of market. Today, major surprise came from the IT stocks which showed major gains after seeing their 52 week low values. Other attraction of the today’s show remains Banking, oil and gas, metal sector shares. Biggest attraction of the market remains shares like Rashtriya Chem&Fert. HMT Ltd. National Alumini, HDFC Bank, Finolex Industri, ICICI bank, Punjab National bank, Wipro etc.

HDFC Bank was the biggest gainer in BSE today with 10.81% or 170.60 rupees rise. Today’s increase in the stock market of India is also linked with the increase in stock markets across the world and increasing political stability in India. From the last few months, Indian stock market is making and breaking one record after the other and moreover, this trend will remain in continuation for couple of more time (hopefully forever).

Soon number portability to become a reality in India

There is good news for large number of Indian mobile phone users that soon they will be able to retain their mobile numbers for ever. This feature will work for both CDMA and GSM based mobile numbers. Therefore, now any person in India will be able to switch operators while retaining the same number (for example any person with existing Reliance (CDMA based) number can easily migrate to Airtel (GSM based) services while retaining his old Reliance mobile number). Hopefully, this feature of number portability will be introduced in India by the fourth quarter of next year.

Initially, this service will be only introduced in the four metros and soon provided to complete India in phased manner. At present most of the GSM operators are opposing this feature by saying that this will increase the cost of operation, while on the other hand CDMA based operators like Reliance, Tata have appreciated this decision of government as a right decision. However, this service will not come as free gift for the users and users will be required to pay onetime fee in the range of Rs 2000-5000 for activating this service; however exact rates will be determined by TRAI on the time of introduction of this service.

This facility will really be a great offer to the mobile users who want to change their mobile operator but are not able to do so because they do not want to change their number. This facility is already available in most of the developed nations and in most of the cases; people are required to pay one time high fee for activating this feature. This service will probably take two to three years before reaching the common mobile users in small cities.

State sponsored terrorism

State sponsored terrorism is not a new thing for India. In many states across India, every year number of innocent people got killed by their own governments. Biggest example of this kind was seen during the Gujarat riots and same thing is again happening in Nandigram (West Bengal). There is confirmed information available in the media, according to which police helped the armed communist worker to first enter in to Nandigram, second killing innocent people for establishing the control and finally returning back safely. This is really a shameful incidence and is also a clear example of state sponsored terrorism.

Every person in this world has a right to demonstrate against its own government but this does not mean that state government itself starts killing its own people. Today, large number of people in India and West Bengal are coming forward in the support of innocent people in Nandigram, who have become the victim of state sponsored terrorism. Today, life in West Bengal came to almost stand still due to the bandh call giving by the opposition parties against the killing of innocent people in Nandigram.

This incidence become more shameful when we consider the past protests raised and organised by the communist parties against the Gujarat government during the Gujarat riots for killing innocent people. Moreover, ruling CPI (M) is totally ruling out any such episode happening in Nandigram and even putting the blame on the Nandigram people for getting the support from rebel groups. After Singur, Nandigram has emerged as a biggest social order problem for West Bengal government which if not treated with proper care can affect the future communist government hopes in West Bengal.

Om Shanti Om is all set to become biggest commercial hit

(Box office report- "Om Shanti Om" & "Saawariya")
One thing about “Om Shanti Om”, a Shahrukh Khan Starter movie, was clear even before its release that Om Shanti Om is going to be a big commercial hit. This movie is also produced by Shahrukh Khan’s home production “Red Chillies Entertainment” and is directed by Farah Khan, who also directed the previous movie “Main Hoon Na” for this production house. Om Shanti Om earned around 75 crore rupees even before the release of movie by selling the various rights related to the movie. Now as per the latest news, Om Shanti Om has earned around 80 crore rupees in India and 15 crore rupees in Overseas markets in just three days of the opening. Therefore, 79 core rupees in just three days of the opening is an impressive start for the Om Shanti Om.

The total cost of production of Om Shanti Om is around 35 crore rupees and around 5 to 7.5 crore rupees (accurate figures not known) are spend on the publicity of this movie, thus final cost of the movie comes out around 40 to 42.5 crore. However, much more than the all money spend on the film and its publicity is achieved by Red Chillies before the launch of movie. The good news for the Om Shanti Om is positive reviews given to the movie by the audience, which further increases the hope of more earning for Om Shanti Om. If all goes well then Om Shanti Om will earn around 150 crore rupees in its first week, which will be around three times more than the first month earnings of “Chak de India” which was biggest commercial hit so far.

Therefore, now it is certain that Om Shanti Om will be biggest commercial hit of the year, really it is good news for Red Chillies, Shahrukh Khan and all the people associated with Om Shanti Om. There is also some good news for Sanjay Leela Bhansali that even after getting negative reviews, his movie “Saawariya” Starting new faces like Ranbir and Sonam, has also earned around 60 crore rupees from Indian and overseas business. Saawariya is made with around 40 crore rupees and around 10 crore rupees are being spend on the publicity, thus making total cost to 55 crore rupees. Therefore, Saawariya will also be second commercial hit; however, there are chances of decrease in the revenues of Saawariya as compared to Om Shanti Om.

The main thing which comes out of this amazing performance of both movies is role of publicity in making any film hit and attracting people towards the cinema halls. Both these movies have spent around 20 to 25 % of the total cost of movies in publicity which is highest ever In Indian cinema industry and equals to the level of Hollywood movies. Moreover, the commercial success of both these movies has further strengthened the role of massive publicity for making films hit. In future, most of the movies will also restore to the new trends set by Om Shanti Om and Saawariya.

Nandigram is burning again

It is very hard to imagine that there is one place inside democratic India where people are still struggling for their basic rights. According to the home secretary of West Bengal, “Nandigram has totally become a battle ground with number of innocent people being killed and displaced from their homes”. This matter started earlier this year when West Bengal government decided to give the land of Nandigram to Salim Group for constructing a special encomic zone. However, people of the Nandigram resisted this seize of land by blocking the roads and ways leading to Nandigram which leaded to the total cut off of Nandigram from rest of India.

This protest become even more violent and bloody when 14 people got killed and number of injured in police firing on the Nandigram villagers protesting against any move of government to enter or seize Nandigram. After this shameful incidence West Bengal government withdraws their plan to seize Nandigram. However, people of the Nandigram still opted for the cut off and closed roads for avoiding a clash with the ruling Communist party activists which were also supposed to be involved in the killing of 14 peoples. Recently, this incidence again becomes more violent when number of armed Communist party activists in the presence of police stormed Nandigram and killed around two people and injured other.

The major problem in this incidence is total failure of police network and police support for the ruling party activists. At present large number of Nandigram residents are forced to live in camps. Trinmool Congress and ruling communist parties are blaming each other for this problem, however, the biggest reality is painful condition of Nandigram people who are victimized inside their own country by their own government.

This whole incidence puts a big question mark on the condition of ordinary people in India and how always portraying itself as people friendly party communist party is involved in the killing of innocent people. This incidence is a clear black mark on our democracatic ideology where still thousands of people are being deprived of their basic rights. Today, India is struggling with Naxalist moment and one of the reasons behind the spread of Naxalist moment in India is also exploitation of common people. Our state government needs to learn lessons early before situations go out of their control.

    Happy Diwali to all

May this Diwali bring lot of happiness and prosperity in your life.

Right decision of making Anil Kumble new Indian Test Captain

Finally, BCCI has taken a right and wise decision of making veteran and experienced Indian spin bowler Anil Kumble captain of Indian cricket test team. He is the 30th captain of Indian test team after Rahul Dravid. Earlier, there were rumours about the two names of Sachin Tendulkar and current ODI captain M S Dhoni for the test captain post. However, nobody has slightest guess about Anil Kumble being chosen as the new captain of Indian test team.

Presently, Anil Kumble is only playing test matches and he has taken retirement from the one day cricket after the 2007 world cup. Anil Kumble has achieved a big name for himself in cricket with his strong bowling and impressive batting performance. His bowling performance is exceptional as currently he is the highest wicket taker for India in both ODI and test with 337 and 566 wickets respectively. His achievements also include 10 wickets in a single match which only two bowlers are able to achieve so far.

Anil Kumble has helped India in winning number of test matches with his great performance; therefore decision of making him the test team captain is one of the best decisions taken by BCCI. Anil Kumble has lot of experience in test matches and therefore, we can hope for Indian team getting help from his experience. Moreover with this decision BCCI has also shown a confidence on the abilities of one of their finest Indian player. This decision is also unique as it will save India from the possible ego clash between different captains, as Anil Kumble will only play in test matches.

    Test Info
    Batting- 118 (test) 152 (inning) 2212 (runs) 1 (100) 4 (50s)
Bowling- 118 (test) 211 (innings) 566 (wkts) 10/74 (best in inning) 14/149 (best in match)

    ODI Info
    Batting- 271 (ODI) 136 (inning) 938 (runs) 0 (100) 0 (50s)
    Bowling- 271 (ODI) 265(inning) 337 (wkts) 6/12 (best)

Bad news for Saawariya Lovers (Movie Review- Saawariya)

So far hyped as Sanjay Bhansali’s greatest work ever, Saawariya, looks failed as per the people’s expectation. Saawariya is going to release tomorrow in India, however it is released two days ahead on 7th Nov overseas. Most of the people who watched the movie on the first day looked to be confused about the movie. Even number of critiques, which have watched this movie cautioned people for not misunderstanding Saawariya movie as “Teenage love story”.

Sanjay Bhansali is always known to give his movies a different touch. Saawariya is a fifth film from Sanjay Leela Bhansali. In past, he has got lot of critical acclaim for his movies like Khamoshi, Black, Devdas and Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam. With Saawariya also Sanjay Leela Bhansali has done number of experiments but this movie looks overshadowed by his previous movies and failed in delivering something new and unique. Let’s take the example of the Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam where Salman Khan failed in getting Aishwarya in the end of movie and in Saawariya also Bhansali has done the same repeat (though, I will not leak the story but end is not as happy as people are expecting).

Though, this movie may also get some critical acclaim and Bhansali has done good use of his imaginations, however chances of general people liking it are very less. Bhansali is a great director and therefore, it is not right to criticise him. However, the truth about this movie is that it is more complex and dull to watch this movie. Rest depends on the individual choice. Acting is other weak point in this movie; however, Ranbir has really shown good performance and we can hope that one more star has entered in to Indian cinema. Salman Khan has only around 10 minutes of role in this movie, a bad news for Salman fans.

Overall, Saawariya is one of the weakest movie ever from Bhansali and fails in delivering as per the expectations from a top class director and hyped created around movie. The good point of this movie is good music, however the number of songs in movie are more than needed. So far, this movie is going to open house full in most of the cinema halls across India with already 70-80% tickets booked for this weekend. Overall this movie is not worth watching in cinema halls; people can wait for DVD release of this movie.

    Point- 1 out of 5

    Significance of Diwali for Indians

Diwali always has a great significance in the lives of the Indians. This is one festival in India which we all like to celebrate with lot of enthusiasm and excitement. People around India prepare for weeks to celebrate this one day. Shopping is also one thing associated with this festival. Mostly people likes to purchase something, may be small for their homes around Diwali days. Therefore, mostly a culture of Diwali bonus is very much prevalent in India. The best day for the purchasing is believed to be Dhanteras, which is celebrated two days before Diwali.

According to the Indian customs, it is believed that by buying on the dhanteras, Goddess of money, Lakshami reward the family throughout the year. Due to this reason, yesterday on dhanteras, there was big rush in most of the markets around India. However, this rush in market starts few weeks before and remains for few weeks after the diwali. Lots of the big consumer goods companies also provide attractive schemes during this season to attract people.
There also exist a custom of buying gold and silver on this festival season; however large number of Indian finds it difficult to purchase gold and silver due to the increasing prices of the gold and silver.

However, Diwali is great festival which bring with lot of happiness and hopes for the people. Like the billions of the other Indians, I am also very exciting about Diwali and try my best to make it memorable. In India, every year millions of dollars are being wasted on the fire crackers which increase the noise and air pollution and kills thousands of the innocent birds, therefore I want to request people for sensibly using the fire crackers and with the saved money try to make the lives of millions of others colourful. Happy Diwali in Advance and May this Diwali bring lot of happiness in your lives.

Pre Release review of Om Shanti Om

Om Shanti Om has emerged as one of the most talked about movie in the Indian cinema history even before its release. Om Shanti Om is a film from the home production of Shahrukh Khan and also, main star of the movie is Sharhrukh Khan. Om Shanti Om is second directorial work of the Farah Khan; her earlier film “Main Hoon Na” for the same production was already a big hit. This movie also looks to be going in the same direction because this movie has already earned about Rupees 75 crore by selling different rights related to the movie. Therefore in simple words, we can say that this movie is already a commercial hit.

Shahrukh Khan’s movies and Diwali have great relation with each other and therefore, this movie is also going to be released on Dilwali day. Most of the Shahrukh Khan’s movies released on the Diwali were big hit and therefore, Shahrukh will also like same from the Om Shanti Om. Already, Deepika Padukone main heroine of this movie has become hot favourite among the movie fans. Shahrukh khan fans will definitely want to watch this movie because Shahrukh has worked lot on his body and muscles for this movie. Music of the movie has already become hot favourite of the people with most of the songs doing well. Therefore, there are good chances of this film getting huge opening on the box office.

However, Sawariyan another movie from Sanjay Leela Bhansali can spoil the show of Om Shanti Om, which will also be released on the same day in India. Sanjay Leela Bhansali has decided to primer Sawariyan on 7th Nov in New York two day days ahead of its actual release in India, therefore, we can hope some reviews of the movie by 9th Nov. Still, there is good scope present for both the movies in this big cinema market where people love to watch good movies. Final performance details of OM Shanti Om will be available after few weeks but one thing is clear that this movie has already created a big name for it even without finally touching the cinema halls.

    Art of listening

The basic problem with most of us is that we want to say and only say. If we try to calculate the percentage of people which are good listeners then it will comes out to be very less because we all have so much to say then how we can listen. Even we can say that nature has made us like this only. However, number of times, it has been confirmed in this world that art of listening can provide a great help to any person.

The other question which comes in front of us is that how we can learn this art of listening or what is it all about? Then, the answer is simple that art of listening is very simple to understand and use in life. For this we first need to understand why we all love to speak more. We all people are made of number of emotions, perceptions and self beliefs and mostly, we believe that what we think and believe is right.

Therefore, mostly we find it very difficult to listen to others. Due to this, we either stop listening (may be physically or mentally or both) to the other person or we interrupt him by giving our own point of views. We can easily see the fights for speaking more in number of group conversations. There is also reason behind this concept of speaking more because the person who speaks more is believed to have leadership qualities and having more knowledge than the others.

Therefore, with time, we all people have mastered ourselves in this art of speaking more and listening less. However, when it comes to emotions, relationships, trust and friendship then people who are good listeners have clear edge over the others. Good listeners have more successful emotional and professional relations as compared to the people who speak more. The reason is simple good listeners provide enough personal space to the other person thus creating a strong bond between each other.

We all can easily become master of this art by simply understanding that listening is also important. Moreover, we also need to avoid providing our personal solutions and fixtures to the other problems; only by listening to their problem silently we can easily help the other person by showing confidence in his abilities. We need to learn that it is better if people themselves find solutions for their problems.

General Musharraf address to nation- just an eye wash

Pakistan President General Musharraf today came on the state run PTV to tell people about the decision of emergency taken by him. This broadcast of the General Musharaf address started in the late mid night and last for about an hour. In the start, General Musharaf told to the world that he took this decision by considering Pakistan first and also ended his address in the same tone. In the address, General Musharraf tried to provide the detailed reasons behind the imposition of emergency.
In the start, he discussed the increasing state of terrorism in Pakistan and decreasing growth of Pakistan. Then, he discussed number of matter like Lal masjid attack, role of Supreme Court and failure of the political parties of Pakistan. However, there was nothing new for the listeners and the whole statement looks to be the version of General Musharraf. Most of the times during his address, he was only defending the decisions taken by him in past. He treated to portray himself as the supreme and only care taker of the Pakistan.
In the address, Musharaf has also shown number of dreams to the people and his commitments for the restoration of democracy soon. At the end, Musharaf also addressed the people and world in English and tried to explain the reasons behind the act. He also gave the reference of previous episodes and showed his commitment for the constitution of Pakistan. General Musharaf also told to the world that this was only option available with him and he is even ready to give his life for the nation.
However, we all know that most of the question remains unanswered because during the tenure of the Musharaf, Pakistan has not grown as desired and he himself is also responsible for the present condition of the Pakistan. Moreover imposing emergency was only resort available for him due to the possibility of negative decision against him from the Supreme Court.

    Pakistan is again under Emergency

Today, Pakistan entered in to the state of emergency for one more time. Pakistan President General Musharraf declared emergency in Pakistan with the help of a PCO (provisional constitutional order). State run television declared news about the emergency in the late evening today. Presently, Pakistan is in a state of total black out with all the information channels like TV channels, Telephones, mobiles and internet connection being jammed by army to stop them from functioning. However, state run PTV is allowed to air, its programs and news.

President Musharraf is trying to defend him in this case by putting blame of imposing emergency on the increasing militancy and interference by the judiciary in the state matters. Pakistan President has no option available with him because there were firm news in the media that Supreme Court of Pakistan is going to give decision against General Musharraf in the Presidential election related case where court has to decide whether Musharraf can fight in uniform or not. If this decision would have come then Musharraf could have faced big trouble because his term of President Musharraf is going to end on the 15th Nov.

Over all this exercise of emergency looks only initiated by Musharraf to retain supreme control of Pakistan. Supreme Court of the Pakistan has rejected the emergency move by the president thus creating a condition of uncertainty in Pakistan. Due to new PCO issued by the president, now all the judges of the Supreme Court are required to take oath again, however, so far all the judges of the Supreme Court have refused to do so. This emergency is a big setback to the people of Pakistan who were expecting democracy soon.

Though situations in Pakistan were really worrying but still there were number of other options available with Musharraf before restoring to emergency. This emergency can once again force people of Pakistan behind the rest of world. People of Pakistan will also remain derived of their basic rights till the emergency last in Pakistan. Overall clear picture of the whole situation hopefully will be available with us by the tomorrow morning.
